I’m Niku, a British-born DJ who grew up in Zambia, South Africa, and now spins tracks in the Bay Area. My early music influences came from my brother's CDs and my mum’s cassettes, where I discovered pop, Arabic funk, and Indian disco. In South Africa, I got into Kwaito and its impact on Afro House and South African Deep House. After moving to the US and working at nightclubs, I eventually saved up to buy a DJ controller, leading me to perform at the same venues where I once worked.
