’m a Portland native, first generation Mexican-American born. I got into attending raves in 2017, but was into electronic back in 2010 when names like Skrillex, Kaskade, and Deadmau5 were very prominent. Since then I’ve strived to explore deeper into the roots of all the different flavors of electronic music. As of today I’ve been dwelling into the 90s rave scene style of music, as well as original artists that were early pioneers of the house & techno scene such as Green Velvet formally known as Cajmere, Carl Craig, Luke Slater, Carl Cox, Robert Hood, Josh Wink and E-Dancer to name a few on top of my head. I got into DJ’ing last year after experiencing an active shooter event at beyond wonderland. The second day had gotten cancelled and as we were all sitting around the campsite unsure if we should go home or stay a day. I had gotten asked to hop on the Bluetooth. A few hours go by and I found myself drawing a crowd from all around from just playing music off Spotify and queuing songs up in a certain order. That second day was dedicated to the lives lost at Beyond Wonderland as we all took a moment to take them into account and acknowledge that they had come to the festival to dance and have fun. Our hope was that their spirits were still dancing with us that day as they transcended to the next plane.
